About Sutton Design & Drafting
Our Story
Bec Sutton has nearly 30 years’ experience in the building industry as an Architectural Drafter. From the first tech drawing class in high school to acing her further academic studies and stepping right into the working class, Bec has enjoyed every step of her career.
Working one on one with an award-winning building designer for more than a decade; moving into a fast paced, high volume drafting office; to a designer/drafter/liaison officer for an award-winning custom builder, Bec has accumulated the knowledge and understanding of the building industry in all aspects. Her understanding and ‘construction’ thought process has had people say she thinks like a builder, and it reflects in the details of her work making it easier on site.
Sutton Design & Drafting was founded in 2000 and has been working with numerous builders and clients while maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracy.

Concept Design is a very important first stage of the process. It sets the foundation of the dream you are looking to attain.
Whether you, as the owner, have a concept/plan prepared already or simply have a few ideas, or, no idea where to start, we can help you.
We work closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and preferences, and to create custom solutions that exceed their expectations.

Planning Consent is preparing and expanding the concept design into drawings ready to show council our proposal.
This stage is submitting the drawings to council for Planning Consent application/approval. We are asking council : 'Will we be allowed to build this design?'
Step 3 : Working Drawings

After Planning Consent has been granted, we can proceed with the third and final stage of the process. This stage is the most complex and lengthy as outside parties like Engineers, frame/truss designers and Energy Raters are involved. Don’t stress though, we can organize all quotes and reports from these parties on your behalf.
Working drawings are an extension of the planning consent drawings. They are the detailed ‘construction’ drawings that builders use and follow to build your vision precisely.
